Dancers Needed to Help a Children's Charity at Black Tie Gala THIS SATURDAY

AuditionsStarlight Children's Foundation MidAtlantic brings joy to seriously ill children and their families.

We are hosting our annual gala fundraiser, Taste of the Stars, at the Four Seasons in Georgetown this Saturday, November 22, 2008.

The dance portion of our event has a unique Studio 54 style theme this year. We have a DJ and need dancers to help execute the theme. It is fun and club-like, but very tasteful. You will be working with innovative make-up and hair artists. A professional photographer will be onsite to capture photos for your portfolio. Your involvement in this event will ensure its success and impact the daily lives of children whose childhood as been disrupted by a life-threatening disease.

CityDance Ensemble Choreography Commission

AuditionsCityDance Ensemble, “Washington’s preeminent modern dance company” (The Washington Times), seeks promising choreographers to create dances for the company’s 2009-2010 Next series. Next is an annual concert series that presents work by today’s up-and-coming dance artists.

Choreography Requirements • Choreographers will be considered for either new or existing work. • Commissioned works can be up to 15 minutes in length. • Commissioned works must be suitable for up to seven dancers. • Choreographers will be given 20 hours to create and rehearse the commissioned work on the company. • Music must come from an existing score.

Stipend & Travel • Chosen choreographers will receive a $1,000 stipend. • Chosen choreographers will spend one week with CityDance (August/September 2009), with travel, housing, and per diem covered. • Commission includes a modest budget for costumes, props, and other technical needs.

Submissions • Choreographers must submit a DVD containing no more than two works made in the last three years. (If you are submitting an existing work for consideration of the commission, the entire work must be included.) Maximum length of DVD is 20 minutes. Submitted DVDs will not be returned. • Choreographers must write and submit a one-page narrative describing the piece under consideration. For consideration of an existing work, please include all technical, musical, and other credits. For consideration of a new work, please outline the number of dancers required, music used, and overall theme of the piece. • Include a resume with mailing address, email address, and phone number.

Deadlines • All submissions must be received by Monday, March 2, 2009. • Choreographers will be notified of their status by Wednesday, April 15, 2009.

Professional Jazz Dance Company Auditions

Dancin’ Unlimited is a premier jazz dance company whose goal is to promote quality jazz dance in a professional performance environment. Its company is composed of seasoned performers, all with extensive classical dance training and performance experience. Dancin’ Unlimited provides its dancers with the opportunity to continue to gain more professional dance performance experience while still maintaining the highest standards for artistic achievement.

Dancin’ Unlimited Jazz Dance Company is conducting dance company auditions. The auditions are conducted like a mini-master class. There are no fees for an audition and applicants do not have to prepare their own dance material.

Dancin’ Unlimited’s requirements are:
* At least 16 years of age or older
* Strong ballet and jazz dance technique
* Ability to quickly learn new choreography and style, and
* Good stage presence and personality

Dancin’ Unlimited provides company members with opportunities for performance and artistic growth. Dancers are paid for all performances.

AuditionsA new and exciting upscale dance revue is scheduled to open in the fall 2009 in a prestigious location in Miami Beach, Florida.
We invite young, enthusiastic and artistic dancers willing to commit to six performances per week.

Only 12 highly talented dancers will be selected.
Young graduates from ballet schools are strongly encouraged to apply.
We provide choreography, rehearsals, beautiful theater, and professional production team.
Requirements:
• Female Dancers who are 18 years of age or older by the audition date.
• Must have previous dance training and experience in ballet.
• Must be available for all phases of the audition process.
• Must provide one non-returnable headshot and one non-returnable full-body shot including height and weight (5"x7" or larger preferred). Photos are used for identification purposes.
• Professional photo is not mandatory. Photos should be a current representation of what you look like or will look like at the audition.
• Must provide a current dance and professional resume with a complete contact and reference information.
• Must have dependable transportation to rehearsals and shows.
• Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to commit for ONE FULL YEAR contract. If you cannot commit for the next year, please do not audition.

AuditionsBusch Gardens Seeks Dancers, Singers, Musicians, Stage Technicians and Specialty Talents for 2009 Season

Dancers: You will be taught a brief dance combination at the audition.

Singers: prepare two songs of different styles. Singers: Prepare two songs of different styles.

Actors/Specialty Talents: Have a prepared comedic, family-friendly monologue.

Musicians: Prepare one or two short pieces of music. Musician applicants will be expected to sight read at the audition.

Stage Technicians and Stage Managers: Bring a resume of related experience and any letters of recommendation that you may have. Technician applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Performer applicants must be at least 16 years old to accept an employment contract. Applicants under 18 years old must have a parent or legal guardian with them at the time of the audition. Proof of age is required.
